I can't see how it would be feasible to have any retail business happening while waiting for financing to finish the tower. if at some point they decide to continue building it, this would turn the place into a building site again and wouldn't it then be impossible to have any customers coming in and out of the ground levels, for health and safety etc?

I could almost guarantee you that all the towers' superstructures will be built. America has never let money stop us from doing anything, why start now?
And do you realize the image the world would have of us if we weren't financially stable enough to rebuild the WTC?

Oh my God. I JUST realized... The setbacks or shoulders of 3WTC almost exactly match the setback and roof of 4WTC. Why this took me so long to realize I don't know. But my mind has just been blown :O

The Super Conducting Super Collider disagrees with your assessment.

I think the whole of NASA would disagree with you also.

The basement floor is as good as done. From here it can start to rise towards grade.

What's to be done about that water seepage that's been in and around that part of the site for some time?

Brush on some Drylock?

Just kidding. Pumps run constantly in NYC. It has been said that if the pumps were shut off or the electricity failed, the subway system would be completely full of water in only a few days.

It's supposed to be a spiral.

See, it would be awesome if they'd designed to actually build such arcing bridges across those two towers. That would have been something truly amazing.

How about slides instead of a bridge, of course that would suck having to walk up the slide. If one of these buildings were my design I would, in fact, add some sort of spiral escape slide incase of fire or other problems.
