I like the raw design. External steel and very tall is totally in my league.

I appears that they have gotten rid of the chunk of concrete where the second crane will go! Not long to go then!

can anyone find the filing for this building on the DOB BIS website?

None of the cranes on site are filed under the 3 WTC/175 Greenwich address.

nyc.gov/html/dob/html/bis/bis.shtml

It's the same for all the towers at the WTC site. You'll find nothing for any of the towers. I don't know why but I guess the whole site is considered a special case?

The properties are all owned by the Port Authority, a federally authorized bi-state agency, so they are beyond the authority of city government. No DOB filings as a result.

So....when ARE the climbing forms for the core going to reappear? Thus far it seems they are still using/installing manual wood forms.

These are the climbing systems. Notice how the platforms at the top have rails on them for the formwork to slide when the entire platform system slides up the core walls.

Yes new concrete has been poured and lots of new rebar and even some new structural steel in the core. But yes.....it's......going........real.......slow so far.

Maybe so (I'm still not convinced) but if you look at the climbing forms that were used prior to the vertical work stoppage, they look far more like metal "climbing forms" than the current arrangement does.

How clueless are you? The climbing forms are almost identical to the ones used before except they are not painted red. Actually the system being installed now is bigger than before. The main core will have an east and west set of climbing forms which will include staging deck inside the core which will rise independently. (The far west side forms for the podium only section are much smaller since they will rise only 5 more floors). They have not installed a lot of the extra safety and weather protection features since they are still installing parts of the main deck.

The only wood is plywood on the steel frames of the climbing form.

Thank you for allowing me to rant this early in the morning.
