Early next year probably. They are currently framing and installing rebar on 11th floor and steel will begin once core reaches 14th floor.

Thanks for the excellent diagrams, Weincol. Do you have these in a larger size?

Core will begin changing once it reaches 13th floor as that's the start of a mechanical set and the transition to the tower portion. They are currently framing the 11th. Steel erection will begin around March, a few weeks after the NW crane is installed. Although the last crane may arrive earlier than anticipated, as the second tower crane wasn't due to be installed until next week and they got it in much sooner.

After the mechanical set, expect this to follow a 1-floor-per-week schedule like 1 and 4 WTC did. It will likely speed up a little after the setbacks as the floor plates get slightly smaller.

Is there a timeframe of when we can expect to see the core reach the 13th floor?

Middle of 2016 I would say. TCO is 6/2017.

IIRC, this particular model is the Potain MR418.
There's a building u/c here in Miami that's using two of the same type of crane...only these are secured on the ground with longer masts rather than a climbing core mast.

Sidewalk has been open for a few months now. And no, no retail yet, however those will be some of the first stores to open (February).

Tis the season to be decorative, indeed. The lights strung about the crane on 3WTC look tight.
