That's building looks a little bit strange. Some part of podium is looking as nearly finished (with regard to the elevation) and then with higher parts is under construction Something like that won't affect in further construction for lower levels (eg. glasses)?

It was on hold for some time, so they simply planned to complete the podium and finish the rest when they secured a tenant/financing.

Stupid? I don't think so. That's looking at it with a very narrow 21st century mind set. It was a different time. Tough and bold, most definitely. Fearless? Probably not. But they were living in a horrible economic depression and had to find any possible means to find income to make an honest living to feed their families. They were tough, not because they were stupid, but because they were passionate about surviving and building a better tomorrow.

The white crane will grow a little more today. It seems there won't be a "new" south-west crane, since they keep on using the same white crane.

And what ever happened to the north-east crane? Any news? Completion of the podium seems to be stalled because of this.

Have any of you guys noticed at what rate/speed are the floors of the main core going up? Is it one floor per week?

Looks like more jumper parts for the crane has arrived.

Wonder how many times they're going to have to do this before the new crane comes.

They poured the same North East Corner wall on May 13 at 2 pm, that they are pouring today, May 20 at 1 pm. I would say that they are on a floor a week pace however I assume with Memorial day and 4th of July it might slow a little. The days are better and longer so they could still stay on floor a week pace.

Anyone know when the cranes are coming? It's a little ridiculous that the east side is so far behind because they can't move their asses on getting the cranes in.

But I didn't write about finishing the podium. I wrote about future condition of the podium, when the tower will grow up. I'm wondering about that works at heights won't injure some elements from podium, like cracked glasses from elevation or violation of construction these 7 stories.

It's possible, and if it happens they will just fix it. Same for 1WTC they had quite a bit of panels they had to replace before opening.

I'm not sure where you got your info, but the jump has not been approved by the PA yet so the earliest it could happen would be this weekend.

There definitely will be a SW crane, there is no way around to complete the building without it. Estimated time of erection for that crane is 07/15 but that might change.

As far as the NE crane, it has been delivered and is actually in NJ. Estimated time of erection is 06/15 - but I would not be surprised if this was pushed back the way things are going.

moving a little slower than anticipated?

seems like there is nowhere to run with the cycle time the core has right now..

The building on the other side of WTC4 looks pretty decrepit. Is is going to be pulled down or what?

One Liberty Plaza. It's undergoing eternal renovations, the worse being the repainting of the facade.

I think he was referring to the very small one just South of 4WTC.

And yes thank god for 1LP external renovations.

Hopefully they will one day pull those small buildings down but still keep their facades. That brick wall is ghastly, and the fire station in front of it is not going any time soon.
