Not just that but by the looks of it also the staircase, toilets and even something that looks like a small kitchen (centre right)

Another one ? Not based on concrete core, but on one of steel levels ?

Yes, without the one coming, east steel cannot proceed.

All in all, there will be three cranes. The Potain for core work, a Wolff 700B on the NE corner to do east and north steel and finally the current Favco will be replaced by another one in the SW corner to do south and west steel.

The SW Favco will be coming in July by the way.

Why don't they just move the current Favco? Seems silly to dismantle a crane already on site?

Because they'd have to rent an expensive mobile crane just to do that since the Potain can't reach that far. It would become a huge hassel.

The plan they have right now is to simply use the current Favco to install the new SW one and the SW one would then disassemble the Podium Favco. Nice and simple.

So the NE crane will finally arrive next week.

What I don't understand, is how will the surface where it will be installed be able to support and endure the immense weight and pressure of the crane's long mast and the rest of the crane and the loads it will lift since the crane is only going to be placed on what seems to be a very thin floor?

Can anyone explain this to me?

thanks

That's the thing, it's not even a floor, just a metal deck. I wonder why they didn't even pour the concrete...

Looks like it's a temporary frame to set something else. Doubt the actual crane parts are not painted/coated.
