The whole tower is now rising. East side steel is up to 8th floor now.

Finally! Good to see the WTC site "alive" again. The rest of Manhattan is rising so fast, but the WTC site was pretty slow.

Well...the market has changed. Bear in mind that most of the other supertalls going up in the city are either residential or are mixed-use. In addition, while many new developments are as tall - if not taller - remember that the actual size (in sq. ft/m) of each of the WTC buildings is really quite massive.

All of this adds up to a project that's been really hard to lease and finance.

I'll never quite understand why they were pressured to not build these as mixed-use, but I guess time will tell...

This is a "partial" setback in the core at the SW corner above the 26th floor. The steel columns in that area get embedded down to the 25th floor - this is what you are seeing.

The full setback on the south side will be at 38th floor.

Probably because they are not using it for steel anymore now that the Wolff is there.

BTW It's interesting that they are using 3 different cranes from 3 different companies on one building. Is that unusual?

It is becoming more noticeable from different perspectives, whether it's from the Memorial, West Broadway, Church Street, and Exchange Place in JC...

Do we have an idea of how tall the core is now? The top is now almost not visible on the webcam.

More good progress today on the East side. Hopefully we'll see installation of the climbing apparatus for the Wolff soon.

Well...now that they have changed the design for 2WTC, 3WTC is my new favorite building from the complex.

It also would have been mine, if they didn't scrap the spires... To me it will always look like it's missing a key element. Anyway, thanks for the updates guys. At least it's being built.

Well there you have it, the EPITOME of Boxy buildings, LITERALLY, BOXES!!!

Really hate to say this, but this is the least attractive Box among the other boxes in NYC. I hope the city can learn from Chinese cities and tolerate more creative designs.
