Just about every major city has one of those...there's one in Baltimore almost like it, but half the height.

it made of steel, faster way to erect a building. I think they reinforce it with cement to make the finish of the skeleton.

The podium seems to be completely fireproofed. Maybe we'll soon see the continuation of the cladding.

Probably pretty soon, but I suspect the east side steel will need to catch up a bit more before we see the resumption of cladding. Remember the podium really goes all the way around the building - and the new podium steel on the east side hasn't been fireproofed yet. Additionally, its got a big fat crane in it as well. That crane needs to be jumped (very soon if not right now) in order for east side steel erection to continue.

The cladding for the podium "extension" will start before anything else. The panels for that are actually bigger for a single piece than the regular cladding.

How will they be able to allow the NE crane to jump, now that it is completely caged up in the metal structure?

How will they be able to add more pieces to the mast now that there is no place for the pieces to join with the rest of the mast?

They need to install the climber frame and second (upper) climbing basket.

Glazing looks good so far. It'll be good to see some more put up.

So, when are they going to do this? I've asked several times on this thread, but no one seems to know......

Awesome shot of 4WTC. And 3WTC will rise well above it.

The building seems to be progressing nicely now. Good!

In 1983, as a kid I visited the WTC towers with my parents, and took some photos. One of them I believe is looking down at where the new 3 WTC is now being built. The quality is not great because the pictures come off slides.

I believe this was down towards 3 WTC:

Dad looking out towards the East River?

Nice shot of the BB:

Looking at the pic with the twins, I would take a safe bet that the location was not where 3WTC stands, but closer to where the temporary PATH Station is located.

It appears you also visited the empire state building! Great pictures btw, I always loved the view of one of the towers from the top of the other, it gives a unique scene.

height cut. 1079'. I thought as much, the renderings didn't seem to depict a taller parapet:

this is official information, but if you want to cling onto hope at this point mistakes have been made on this website before. IIRC, 3 WTC was once listed at 2 WTC's height, and this website still lists the tower at 1170'. http://3wtc.com/#
