I posted this over at ssp, so why not here. Must share the love.

Anyways, to be constantly informed about this tower, one must know all the vital cameras.

Memorial: http://www.earthcam.com/usa/newyork/...cam=tower1base

3 wtc: http://www.earthcam.com/usa/newyork/...er/?cam=tower3

wtc 5 site: http://www.earthcam.com/usa/newyork/...cam=stnicholas

Church Street: (will autoupdate every time u click thread or every time you hit refresh)

Hudson Camera (Pan to the right, downtown is visible): http://www.earthcam.com/usa/newyork/...m=skyline_pano

Some of you might know these, but for guests and members who might not.

Also, here is a self updating image. Should update twice a day. From the earthcam archive but directly tied to the camera via the image code.

Big News right here!
SW crane boom should come in by next week, probably in service by the next week or two.
Steel will commence in 2 weeks, only because of the cocoon netting (safety rule for Manhattan) and the SW crane, now coming in!

It's a rule for safety during construction in New York, they have to do that, then they can get back to work!

I think he already knows that. He was asking why they wait until now to install it and didn't do it before.

Anyway it seems like something more than just the safety net. They are also attaching some blue beams to the columns, together with scaffolding. Seems they are preparing it to install something, I don't know what. Maybe fire protection to the columns or the curtain wall?

That IS the safety net being referred to. It will climb with the building.

Not America's, the cores for the Marina City Towers rose way higher than its floors.

and if they need to wait another 10 years, they will. When you will become developer you can give out your orders.

They can install two floors of steel in a week. They can do one floor a week with the core. So, they can catch up quickly. However they need the cocoon follow the steel work at that rate. Have a coffee and relax.

The building that should wait another 10 years (or more) is 2 WTC.

The Wilshire Grand in Los Angeles uses this method. The core was at one point was nearly 300' above the steel. Portland also had a building go up this way last year.
