Anyone knows what the BOMA efficiency rating for the buiding is? It seems such a large core that leasable space is 50% or less of total area.

That is some sort of opticall illusion.

I don't know the details for this building, but I can give you these examples.

If the side of the core were 50% of the lenght of the side of the building, it only would be a quarter of the area or 25% (although it looks like it would be much more)

If the core were two thirds (66,7%) of the lenght of the building, it still will be less than half of the area (44.5 % for the core and 55.5% for the leasable area) but as you see in the graphic it seems like the core is bigger than the leasable, when actually, it is smaller.

I don't know for this tower, but the core seems larger than one half of the lenght of the building, but not as long as two thirds. My guess is that the core is not bigger than one third of the total area of the building, I would say around 30% core -70% leasable.

... and as the building gets taller the core gets smaller, therefore becoming an even lower percentage of each floor's area. Until, of course, the floor plates themselves get smaller.

I wonder if in between this building and 4WTC there will be that weird tunnel effect that occurs when two mirrors face each other.

Or for people in either building. But then they wouldn't be able to see themselves so it would be a mirror of a mirror of a mirror of a mirror.........

I was at the WTC last Tuesday. It was raining all day, but managed to take some pictures before entering the 9/11 Museum.

This is an example of a climbing crane. The boom on it isn't the same as the ones at 3WTC but the principle of how the tower sections raise and lower is similar.

Its not the only way a crane can rise with a building but its one of the more common ones.

The linked video is a very common example of a climbing crane but it is not at all like the system being used here. here is a link to a video of an internal basket climber similar to the ones on this building:
