That glass looks stunningly beautiful. I like the industrial look too, it will certainly allow tower 3 to stand out and it will give a nice contrast to tower 4, in that way it will also make some of us appreciate the minimalism of tower 4 even more.

I think the only possibility of the spires coming back is if the BIG design for 2 WTC is scrapped and then reverted to the Foster design. However, there are no indications of this EVER happening. Even if the design for 2 WTC is reverted back, I still dont think the spires atop 3 WTC will come back. Its called value engineering.

Could it be that the last floors of the building will be "concrete free", i.e., the last floors will only be made of steel? Or is the concrete core going to reach the maximum height? By the pictures, it seems that concrete has stopped for good...

No, the core just finished transitioning to a setback. The concrete core will continue for about 7 more floors.
