Wait... So USB is moving across the street instead of in the actual WTC? :O

No, 120 Broadway is already 90% leased and I doubt they'll be evicting any of their tenants. I just found it interesting that UBS is buying a controlling stake into an office building a block away from the WTC and partially owned by Larry Silverstein.

Also it's not uncommon for major corporations to own nearby real estate where they set up shop. It gives them some control over their surroundings.

So, basically, this could be good news.

Okay, now you got me confused. So is it good news or bad news ........ or neutral news?

Depends on who is doing the render. This one is from the graphics house that does work for Richard Rogers. It shows 2 fewer mechanical floors than the Silverstein/dBox renders.

I'd love if they would finally announce both roof heights and pinnacle heights of all the towers. It's so frustrating to browse wtc.com with them having so few info there.

I don't see how it could be bad news. UBS will be co-owners on a property with Larry Silverstein. UBS is looking for space at 3WTC. L.S. is looking for a tenant. 120 Broadway is one block away from the WTC site.

It could be nothing. It could be more. I find it a little more than just coincidence. But that's my take. You've gotta form your own.

Looks like there is a partnership between the 2. I am becoming more optimistic.

Brilliant pictures!

Does anyone have a link for this building that UBS are going to partnership with. I'm guessing it's going to get built?

Nothing is official yet. Just google "WTC Silverstein UBS", you'll find plenty of news articles.

If you look at the first render on page 1 of the 1 WTC thread, it looks like a recent render without the X braces on 3 WTC. Is it possible this was known beforehand by some?

No. 120 Broadway is a stunning old office tower, but as office space goes, it's Class C. It's a matter of time before it is converted to residential use.

I can imagine there would be quite beautiful flats in this building. Art Deco loving folks would pay a fortune just to live in it.

120 Broadway isn't Art Deco. But it is the reason why NYC had a setback rule.
