I always knew it was going to be 1,168' overall, but thank you for confirming this Thomas.

However, per your diagrams, they show 10 office floors on the last setback which is incorrect. There will be only 6.

Topping out tomorrow.

Topping Out Ceremony at 3 World Trade Center
https://www.wtc.com/media/news/toppi...d-trade-center

Quote:
World Trade Center developer Larry A. Silverstein will be joined by more than 500 union construction workers, as well as a host of public officials, business leaders and representatives from the local community, to celebrate the topping out of 3 World Trade Center.

The last bucket of concrete for the 80-story skyscraper will be signed by Larry Silverstein and other dignitaries and lifted 1,079 feet to the top of 3 WTC. The tower is being constructed utilizing an innovative core-first method in which the concrete core is completed first, followed by the perimeter steel, which will reach the top later this year. The tower glass will be completed in 2017, and 3 WTC will open for business in 2018.

So wait a second. Since the spires were scrapped, they just raised the parapet height instead or was it always 1,168 feet?

If that's true then Rogers really did redesign it to fit the context of 2WTC and it wasn't just a value-engineering idea. Although I guess those are not mutually exclusive.

Yimby still says 1079, as do Silerstein's/WTC websites. A source would be nice.

The parapet in those drawings doesn't look anywhere near 89 feet high. More like 35-40 feet.

What's with the early topping out celebration? The building is not topped out yet, the core is ~1020 feet right now, the parapet needs to reach 1080 feet before that happens.

I like the transparent glass for the base shown in the renders, it reminds me of the Leadenhall Building in London, which I also like.

Does someone have the structural plans? Count the number of floors in the core and compare it to what is built now.
