I know that feeling, I visited NYC for the first time this summer, and i hate the fact that it's going to take years for me to come back, wish i lived closer .

Since I haven't been there, for me, movies usually help, I remember watching Breakfast at Tiffany's and I could really get that classy New York feel from it. Maybe one day I'll see it in person, although I don't expect it to be just like in the movies.

At least these towers will be occupied and have a purpose unlike Dubai and China.

Idk I really love all the decisions taken for 1WTC, but as said before I'm an outsider so I guess I can't understand all the meaning this tower needs to have.
And about the rest of the complex 4WTC is just amazing, 3WTC could be better with the spires but still looks great, on the other hand i agree that the new 2WTC design is just terrible and doesn't fit in any possible way in the area.
NYC is a city made up of people from all over the world, that's what makes it New York ,and belongs to the world itself, not just to Americans . Feel free to opinionate! I agree with you by the way. The only thing about #2 's new design that i like is that the view of 1 and 2 when complete, from parts of Jersey, will emulate the Twins

So these fins are higher than the core, correct? So if the core is 1079', does this bring the architectural height up to say 1100 or so? Or is the core actually shorter than 1079'?

The core is not 1079. I don't have the exact height, but the parapet goes to 1079.

Lets give it a rest please...

Unless someone can post a legitimate elevation drawing proving otherwise, just accept 1079 for now.

That's the thing i love the most about NYC, it's multiculturality is awesome, as a native spanish speaker felt really welcome there with so many people speaking my mother language.

The parapet... those gaps beg for spires.
