NEW YORK | 3WTC (175 Greenwich Street) | 329m | 1079ft | 69 fl | T/O

St. Nicholas National Shrine, a Greek Orthodox cathedral designed by Santiago Calatrava, is under construction atop Liberty Park, just south of the memorial plaza:

The cross-bracing is definitely showing up nicely. I agree, the original cross bracing would have been spectacular. I guess the one benefit for the people working in this building is less obstructed views of the two rivers.

Looks like this shot from Earthcam is back up. It was down for like a week:

This is by no means an ugly building, but there is really nothing exceptional about it. It is barely distinguishable from 4 WTC. Looking back on Rogers' original proposal is almost painful. I honestly feel (sort of) sorry for him. This could have been so much better if only the scum-bag developer hadn't chosen to forsake design for short-term profit.

Nonetheless, the LM skyline is looking great, as usual.

Developers tend to shy away from cross braced buildings as tenants prefer unobstructed views (and don't even start with the Hancock Center, it's 2017 now)
Is it good for architecture? No.
Will a developer makes sure his multi billion dollar building is as desirable on today's market as possible even if some architecture fanboys on a small forum may call him 'a scumbag'? Looks like it.

They should have kept the original height and made the top two floors a five star restaurant.

Looks like the last crane's being dismantled now. Hopefully the WTC site won't be without any cranes for too long, now.

Wew. Why don't you try and give him a serious response? The guy might be an idiot but he made a legitimate interesting comment this time and all you could come up with was some childish ad hominem?

Well, if you could see the rest of his posts across the forums, you'd easily realize that he has zero credibility therefore he does not deserve a serious respond but rather a respond suitable to his 'beautiful' watching point of view. I mean what's next? Shall we treat the Aryan just like he's the boss of heaven? Instead of bothering to improve my discussing skills, you could've give him a serious respond. (which he so awfully deserves)

Boom is gone from the crane. That 1% I had for the spires coming back are gone.
