From some angles it looks okay, but from others I can't disagree. Hopefully some revision happens.

Fosters' design was obviously waaaay better, but whatever. Tenants want what they want and money talks.

IMO this is definitely the worse angle.

I know, like I said from some angles it's downright awful. Although I'm trying to make the best of the situation so I'm trying to be happy that the building is massive and unique. Although it would be nice if they got rid of that one hideous side and made it 1,362 feet tall just like the old South Tower.

The BIG design isn´t bad per se. It just has slightly awful proportions from a lot of angles and doesn´t fit into lower Manhattan at all.

LOL!!! ...Talking about Foster's stodgy skyscraper:
“a generic extrusion with a flashy hat.” Bjark Ingels
I agree...BIG time!!
Foster's design is the typical deja vu disgrace,a thing you can build only in Astana or Pyongyang
It's kind of funny that most of the foremost architects or critics endorsed Bjark's design!...only in SSC can one read garbage about it

Big Design just does not fit in WTC complex. It would look so great in Hudson Yards but not there.

Which makes no sense really since Foster's tower would be the faster and cheaper option due to it being already built up to ground level with it's lobby and foundations in place to boot.

Plus, it's been over a year and a half now and still no one has stepped up to take BIG's proposal. By the time they get around to completing the thing it will be nearly a decade old as well.

I think the reason they changed it was because FOX news was going to be the tenant and didn't want Foster's floor layout or something like that.

Yeah that's exactly what happened but then they backed out so why should their needs and wants have any influence over the design anymore?

Anyway, Foster's tower was amazing and it's a real shame to lose it.

Right, that did happen, so I'm not sure why. I also believe the current foundation is for Foster's tower too. Given how f'ing incompetent this whole process and the people behind it are who really knows.

"A generic extrusion with a flashy hat". If that's what he calls the Foster design let me make a statement about his design. "A bunch of boxes stacked on top of each other by a 2 year old looking like it will fall over". I like some of BIGs work, but this is just a disgrace. Also, these two architects are nowhere near in the same league, Foster and Partners has been designing hundreds of projects for over 40 years. Also let us remember the Foster Design was designed at the same time as all the other WTC towers and the architects communicated to have the buildings complement each other. I just think BIG's design screams too much for attention next to a site that should be more somber, not an architectural playground. Thankfully we got a really nice 3 WTC to make up for this (If it is built).

I've read several articles from arhcitecture magazines and critics throwing shˇt at BIG's design. Plus, most comments here or in Archdaily's posts, for example, are negative.

LOL!!...You are a despicable liar: can you provide sources??
Also, most of the forumers here are kids: people with little culture and architecture understanding withstand Foster as his designs are very childish....just have a look on the garbage he designed for Apple in Cupertino!
Bjark is a pure genius, like Gehry or Mayne while Foster is a good craftman(they don't play in the same league!..)..
WOULD YOU COMPARE Guatemala City WITH PARIS???...

BIG's design would be better in Houston not in NYC.
