The checkerboard flooring has been torn up and a fully fitted out terrace is going in its place. Since Spotify is leasing around 400,000 square feet at the top of the tower it's most likely being built by/for them.

Is this round cutout in the grass ontop of the VSC where the sphere will go?

Yes. That seems to be the plan.

You're looking at cloud reflections on the upper floor cladding there.

I believe they're actually referring to the discoloration of the parapet

It's just more transparent/less reflective. Hopefully they'll apply a finish to the back of the glass to make it match, cause being able to see stuff on the roof through the parapet at street level is kind of whack.

I also admire the fresh, minimalistic and futuristic look of the new WTC. With 56 Leonard and NY by Gehry we have two very courageous approaches to skyscraper design. 45 Broad will add a neo art deco style to the skyline, and everything done and planned at the cherry street in two bridges will visually stretch the skyline around the east river.

The 200m+ building at Maiden Lane along the towers done around Fulton Street will finally change the east river view of downtown. It was basically stuck since the building spree around water street during the Rockefeller planned modernization of lower Manhattan along the construction of the old WTC.

I wouldn┤t mind a mini Battery Park City along the east river to give this side of the skyline a fresh and new look, and redeveloping or recladding the mundane towers around Water Street. And MAYBE a building that goes above 2000 feet.
All of this + recent photos with nearly finished WTC3 trully showcase how wrong BIG's design for WTC2 is and how much the whole WTC plan needs Foster's design to complete it as well the entire Lower Manhattan vista

IMHO All tower 3 does to the skyline is block tower 4.
Without the quad spires it basically is lost amongst the backdrop of Manhattan.

imo the cluster as a whole only looks good from the west to east which is a bit of a shame when the twins looked great from any angle

1wtc looks good from any angle but even when 2wtc it still looks so alone

Spires needed for sure. I really like surrounding the non-WTC development.

Hopefully the decision will be made to add them back. How difficult could it be to do so? In particular, those voids in the corners of the parapet NEED to be filled with something. So.....PLEASE BRING BACK THE SPIRES!!!

I mean i don't care if the spires are on or not. But why did they remove them again????

Again, if they add them, that's great. If they don't, fine by me.
