Instead, we got this rejectionist, uninviting fat smoke stack of a building, topped with a donut and a toothpick--to replace those two graceful (AND TALLER) avantguard WTC buildings. And I thought 1 WTC was bad: just look at these new nondescripts being added to the site, and despair!

I live and work in Manhattan, but avoid going to that place in fear of seeing the two open graves surrounded by ugly blah blahs. Pitty.....
We already have enough thin supertalls going up, and adding 180 story towers would throw the skyline balance off ridiculously. However I do agree it could have been better overall, comparing this to Hudson Yards.

Look what tower finally made its debut into Hollywood!

Though, I'm a little confused by the poster. What direction is the tower being viewed from? If it's from the west, then the characters should be standing near the 9/11 memorial. If it's being viewed from the east, then where is 4 WTC? Very strange.

I gotta say, I think what ever coating is on the fins does a good job of reflecting the afternoon or setting sun.

The street view seems to be from the North, but they got the building turned sideways to show the view from the West. They also used a recent construction photo that still has them installing glass at the top.

Having read the synopsis and watched the trailer, I think shortcomings in the poster are the least of its worries.

Space Cowboys + ID:Resurgence + [insert your 10 favorite movie tropes here] + "only the president has the codes (and I wonder who he's meant to be...)" + end-of-world-but-with-humor + evil America subtext = I'd rather watch a Supergirl marathon. But I may be repeating myself.

Or is that too pissy?

Frank Gehry is the worst architect on the planet.
I like Gerhry and I love 8 Spruce! I think that building is unique and a work of art. People stop to take pictures of it because it's interesting-looking and attention grabbing.
I never see tourists taking pictures of that ugly Verizon building!

LVMH shouldn't even exist as a company ... they do nothing useful for soceity. Seriously who cares who Bernard Arnault is ...

And ... to commission a museum for yourself? How appallingly tacky.

And people take pictures of 8 Spruce because they don't have a choice ... its there blocking the view ...

This discussion is not very productive. And it has really nothing to do with 3 WTC

The only thing that lacks to be able to say so is a WTC5 tower. But other then that, i agree with you.

Why does this look oddly similar to the 1998 movie "Deep Impact"?

If only the general public knew what was buried beneath that giant wave, especially with the airplane directly above... I bet the mainstream media would jump on that fake outrage for more clicks.

Also, would it have killed them to use some basic CGI to complete the façade of the tower (let alone rotating it in the right direction)? I mean, that portion of it is complete as of this posting, and surely this fictitious event takes place sometime in the future. Otherwise, the number of glass panels on the tower dates the movie rather specifically.

Is it just me or is One New York Plaza turned about 90% from the way it's supposed to be facing? Looks like somebody goofed.

I think it's facing the correct way, but it looks too thin (as if we're looking at the thin side) because the entire image is squished horizontally

Here's the original clip from the movie. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VNtsVP42bOE
It is not tilted, but in the image it seems so because it is stretched vertically.
