^Hmmm... The core forms are above street level, but if I remember correctly the core itself will be considered above street level once the cure time is complete, which occur ~30 days after concrete is poured.

I can't wait for steel. I hope they finish the retail floors relatively fast so they can move on to the rest of the tower.

It really would be a shame to see a building with such a foundation top out at 7 floors!

Yeah, but given the fact WTC7 is fully leased (it only opened 5 years and 5 months ago), WTC4 ~ 50% (big leases are more and more impossible) and WTC1 gets filled-up. I have my hopes. Allthough it wouldn't be much of a desaster, if this one goes on hold for a year or so. They all will be build in the end, that's for sure.

I rather wanna know, how much money was lost, because of delays, resulting from bitching around, wanting power over the site, and ongoing complains about any detail, victim family whining, which was related to the new WTC. And if this lost money would be enough to ensure a fluent construction of this tower and WTC2.

I'm always a huge pesimist but I still dare to say that there is a considerable chance that this tower will never go on hold ........ that is, if the economy doesn't get too screwed by the huge problems we have here in Europe

I think the victim families deserve their part in the rebuilding of the WTC, saying that they're whining is a bit disrespectfull, don't you think?

Pools are things, however the victim families are people. Things can't be insulted but people can

Losing a loved one does not make these people architects, developers or city planners. Redeveloping the WTC site should be left to trained professionals who know what they're doing.

That is a great shot. I like the robustness, the thick concrete columns of this tower.

Looks like the core form works have jumped to the third floor today.
