O believe me the US has it's nationalism from the 20th century.
The rest of the world thinks that the US look down over other countrys
and its ok for the US to do something but not for anyone else to do it and
with some of the comments on this I can see why the world thinks that.

Is it the core that we're seeing in Goulven's pic (orange square)? 3WTC is my favourite, its design is pure beauty & elegance .

The orange stuff are the core forms, concrete is being cured inside them. 3WTC is now at 1st floor.

To the 2nd floor. Once concrete is completely cured on 3th and 4th floors, then it will be to the 4th.

Any idea when they might start putting in steel to make up the Podium?

WOW! The core looks massive! Is that the size it'll be for the whole tower, or just the lower levels?

just the size of the elevator banks, stairs, and critical utilities

from what I have seen, #3 is fairly typical floor to floor.

This might sound stupid but what does the core mean?

the core is the concrete encased steel center of the superstructure. effectively it adds a huge amount of rigidity to the building and keeps safe the important faculties. the elevators, the stairs, the major utilities.

super safe structure

It needs to be completely cured to be part of the building's integrity, at least that's what engineers say. Concrete gets its maximum strenght in about 28 days; so as long as the concrete core rises first, we are going to see two new floors every month.

It does not sound stupid but just one word of advise is not to ask questions like that on supertalls in the Middle East or Asia cause they would eat you alive. Some bloke gave out to me for asking was the skyscraper put on hold. He was a dickhead

Sorry but I can't help laughing. I'm going to assume there is some kind of language barrier here, but why don't you find the details yourself? When I first showed up here years ago I took the time to read every page of the WTC threads.

SSC, SSP, and WNY are the top three sites to get WTC information on the internet. Better than gothamist or curbed, better than the Port Authority or the official wtc.com websites even. You can probably spend a few days sucking in all of the information presented on them.

It was kind of a funny question, but like Zensteeldude said there are no stupid questions. Only stupid answers. We all miss that guy.

Thats very true.
As long as the question is answered its alright but you do get some wankers on here who act like they own the project on the thread and who dont answer the question but criticize the question and the asker.
