You mean topped off as a stump with seven floors?

Hopefully not!

Nice shot. It looks so promising... let's hope at least this tower continues to rise.

Lol yeah, imagine after a few months the thread title says NEW YORK | 3WTC (175 Greenwich Street) | 40m | 131ft | 7 fl | T/O. Everyone is like "what the heck..." .

That picture could not have been taken on January 4th. The street level decking was well along on that date.

You're right, judging from the KPI TV cams archive it looks more like it's taken some time around December 28. The date January 4th is taken from the website below the image, I just copied it. Anyway, the pic is great

It's sad they removed the large diagonal bracing on the side of the building, but it would be devastating if they topped it out at 7 floors. Especially since they already spent so much money on the thick bunker-esque walls and reinforcing. It would be less wasteful to built it to its full height instead of a heavily armored stump building.

lol.
No way that this one tops off at full height this year. I hope the decision to go all the way comes this year.

The two tower cranes don't have the ability to jump themselves, correct? If true, then the cranes are going to have to be replaced to be able to even build a seven-story stump, unless it's possible to add a jumping mechanism to them. They look like they are about to "drown".

I heard somewhere that they would be lifting them soon. Can't remember where though. I really hope they put in the first steel soon! Since this tower is already far above ground level it seems like it already should have been done.

yes they were supposed to this month but that hasn't happened yet...as for the steel it should be any day now...the lower podium is supposed to be complete by spring...fingers crossed this keeps going all the way!

Thanks guys, it's just a test video of how will things look if I make a timelapse construction video of the tower, but first need to know if the core will rise first or the steel...

I dunno for sure but in my opinion the steel will rise first because with this approach the building rises faster and is stronger. And I think that since 1WTC and 4WTC are made for maximum strength 2WTC and 3WTC will be built to those standards as well. Just my 2 cents

That'd be cool to see a timelapse of 3 WTC Otie, you should do it! My guess would be that the steel will rise first. Like Kanto said, it's what Towers 1 and 4 did, and I also remember back in about 2008 1 WTC's core was poking above ground level before they put in steel, sort of like what 3 WTC looks like right now.

I have expected that by now there would already be more of the transportation hub. I guess it's a rather complicated and tricky structure to build
