"At 3 WTC, the concrete core is at the fourth floor. Steel will start to arrive in May, and the building will rise at least to the 7th floor initially."

---

So we have to wait a bit before the first columns arrive..

Ok. I know they're building a new tower just thought they were going to demolish what is left of the Waterview tower.

Question on this one. I assume the foot print will extend out well past the current concrete structure so that, for example, the area where the second crane is will all be filled in with steel. When will that steel structure start going up? Why hasn't it started going up already? There is no obvious reason, to me, why it shouldn't already be going up.

Thanks for the nice updates. So have they found enough tenants to continue the construction of this skyscraper?

By May, Larry must have a tenant. If he does, then they will continue. If not, then 3WTC will go on hold until he can find a tenant.

Work will continue past May. Mostly just interior work. It probably won't go fully on-hold till sometime next year without a tenant.

CB1 Hears Silverstein WTC Update

"... 3 WTC’s steel-and-concrete core has nearly reached the fifth story, with the ground-level concrete floor slab expected to be complete this month. The structure is slated reach the seventh story by the end of the year, forming the building’s lower “podium.” Williams explained that in order for Tower 3 to be built to its planned 71 stories, at least 10 tenants are necessary to meet the requirements established by Silverstein and WTC-site owner the Port Authority. Silverstein’s team expects to meet that milestone and complete the Lord Richard Rogers–designed skyscraper in 2015. However, no tenant agreements have yet to be announced..."

*Not sure where/how they got "at least 10 tenants"... it should be one or more, so long as they lease 400,000 square feet.

According to WTC's website, they will complete this building by 2014 - is that realistic?
And WILL they build more than just that 'stump'????

Considering there are still like 33% of 1WTC and 50% of 4WTC empty I doubt a 2014 oppening for 3WTC is realistic

2016-18 is far more realistic. I see this defos been finished before 2020 but im sure it will be few years before that.

That's the old floor count. The new one is 80 and has nothing to do with the final height of the building. They just "skipped" a few floors...

I hope 2wtc and 3wtc dont end up looking like the old 4wtc, 5wtc, and 6wtc, except HALF the height and area.
