Can you people read? All this means is that Tower 3 will go up first, and Tower 2 will stay on hold. It doesn't mean it's canceled.

This is actually good news, because one tower rising and one on hold is better than two on hold.

well least one of them is getting built its better then having two stumps also tower 3 is a pretty nice building so i guess its better that were getting something rather then nothing

We all knew that one or the other was going to be built. The disappointment for some of us stems from the fact that we would have preferred Tower 2 to be built first. Assuming Silverstein sticks with this current strategy, even if it doesn't mean Tower 2 is canceled outright, the longer that it takes to be built the more likely that it will be redesigned or turned into a stump.

hmm what can i say, i'm glad that at least one tower will be built. but tower 2 is really the best among the other WTC towers, it would be such a shame to cancel it. the only hope is 2WTC is on hold for the next years and by the end of the decade they start building it, eventually.

It's actually a very good strategy. There will be an uproar about everyone's favorite tower not being built, money may be thrown at Silversteen to build 2WTC.

Well If this design of Tower 2 is gone they should just make a twin of one world trade center and call them the twin towers again!

2WTC will cost $260 million more to build than 3WTC. It's not about choosing favorites, it's about money...

Certainly don't know what Silverstein thinks of this offer. It sounds like it may be a good deal for the PA but not so good for him. This may be just another smoke screen they're putting up to look good. The redesign will not only be another expense but also will delay things further, something the PA wants but nobody else does.
