Nobody knows for sure whats going on with Tower 3 because they have stated they want to get that up asap, they just have to meet the requirments we've all heard about from the PA and Silverstein. I'm being really optimistic with 3WTC and hoping it continues. The podium won't be open until the end of next year if it goes on hold so they have until then to get a lease and keep it going which I have a feeling we will see 3WTC go up.

They are, 3WTC will more likely then not continue without being put on hold, Silverstein still has well over a year to find a tenant before having to really stop this.

I think it is difficult to say, there is still work going on, but not really related to construction but on protecting it for the time when it is on hold..
Sorry, this post was meant to be in the 2WTC thread!!

Of course they are still working on this one, otherwise they would not have put up this huge new crane.. lots of steel already south of the core.

The rebar keeps going higher on this. Maybe they aren't stopping at this time.

Core will stop at the 9th floor, while steel to the 7th.. that's all.

Seems really odd to stop the core at the ninth (top of the podium), but not build out the last two floors of it with steel. Must be some construction related reason for doing so. Still, it's going to look a little odd.

They need the core to be higher than the steel to set up/keep the formwork.

When did you hear that? Fantastic news if true. It also tells us why they brought a second crane back in.
