That would explain the bizarre occurance where the crane left and then came back.

Rigging UTC Fuel Cells

Quote:
At the World Trade Center, 80-ft below street level beneath future Tower’s 3 and 4 sit a series of United Technologies 400KW fuel cells, the latest in energy cogeneration modular powerplants. These 30-ton units needed to be relocated from inside Tower 4 to their final resting places in one of Tower 3’s numerous mechanical rooms. The process involved overcoming a 4-ft drop in elevation where the two building footprints’ met. Overhead clearance was less than 24-in. A deck and jacking system was developed and implemented that allowed the rigging process to repeated quickly and safely. The units were moved, one by one, to the new floor and set level by our master riggers.

Hope that's really true. I'll blieve it when it's indeed rising higher than it should .

I expect an epic duel between 432 Park and 3WTC. Which one will top out first? Let the betting start

Whenever two towers finish their T/O race, it always seems two more start rising...

So say this tower continued properly again within the next month, when do you believe it will be topped out? 2014? My guess is early 2015.

Any word on who the tenant may be? And no offense, but I'm skeptical.

As for topping out, I'd say earliest would be fall 2014. Gives them 104 weeks to do 80 floors. Tough to say since so much of it depends on weather conditions, but I think fall 2014 would be the earliest. But we're getting ahead of ourselves, lets wait for an official announcement that a tenant has been signed, then we can start making predictions.

If indeed it's true, then best news in quite a while! But we must have official confirmation. Until then it's just a rumor.

Awesome news! Now...all that's left is WTC2 to get the full GO! ))

..then when all 4 are built... we can then watch the planned Grand Central Mega-Tall +2000'er rise ...and maybe even build a megatall in DTBK instead... that sure will p*ss off some manhattanites

what does not make sense to me is that the erector is using the equipment of a competitor. this has me puzzled.

regardless. new steel on the west part of podium went in today.

when a fabricator walks away from a job that they have in the bag because were just released to fabricate 20000 tons for a contract they already had in place is a pretty decent source.

unless of course they were fibbing.

and yes, if you see the core start to move ahead, that will be the real tell. This tower is being built chicago style. (core first).
