Its NOT on hold? I thought it goes on hold once it reaches 9 floors or something..... If it isnt on hold, then when will this be visible in the skyline?

It is not on hold currently. They are putting up new parts of the core and new structural steel.

It MAY go on hold once it reaches the 9th floor. So even if it goes on hold, which is not certain, it is not YET on hold.

Here's the latest update!

175 Greenwich August 2012 Construction Photos

Great progress on the podium, but no vertical momentum.

I don't see another tower crane? The only tower cranes I see are the 2 that were already there, one in the core and one in the podium.

Hopefully very soon, a lucky tenant will get this tower to rise
Huh, what tower crane? There are two tower cranes on site - the same ones that have been there for weeks or months. What is new?

http://www.inquisitr.com/284727/worl...-remains-weak/

According to the company:

“Work is continuing at the 3 WTC site. The concrete core has reached the 8th floor but perimeter steel erection is continuing. The steel perimeter will reach the seventh floor in the fall. After that, there will be another year’s worth of work on the interior. If during this period, Silvertein Properties is able to secure a pre-lease for 400,000 square feet, then construction will continue uninterrupted to the top.”

In other words, Silverstein has till Fall 2013 to find a tenant and work will continue un-interrupted.

Whats up with the 9th floor? Why would it go on hold at that floor?

That's how many floors the podium has.
