Sorry, I haven't been following the thread for a longer time. Does it mean that the WTC 3 is now under construction? And not only to the certain level?

Nobody knows for certain but judging by the latest events such as removing the protective cover from the top of the core, I'd say they are most probably not planning on continuing the building without a tenant

I don't think so either. They would not have been removing the formwork.

those are slip forms for the concrete. but yes. based on removing that, the concrete contractor has likely been directed to demobilize.

WTC 3 will remain under construction until Fall 2013.

By Fall 2013, the 9 Floor Podium will be finished.

If Silverstein can secure a tenant by Fall 2013, then construction on the rest of the tower will continue un-interrupted. If not, then all construction will cease in Fall 2013 until a tenant is found.

That's true, though the construction has already been reduced from full construction with the core stopping to rise. That means that even if construction doesn't fully stop, it still will get delayed

NYGuy posted this on SSP. Silverstein on CNBC saying he thinks everything should be done by 2016, 2017. If that's the case, 2 won't be on hold for long, and 3 probably won't go on hold at all. But only time will tell.

Of course he's going to say something like that. What's he supposed to say, "Ugh, we'll maybe in 20 or 30 years it'll be done"... All developers spin things positively. One should never read too much into what they say.

Maybe the WTC will be done in five years. Maybe it won't. Frankly, I'm leaning towards won't.

People need to stop obsessing about dates and timetables. We're way passed that crap after all the promises previously made by past administrations.

It'll be finished when it's finished.

People want dates a lot more because the estimate time of completition changes almost every month.... I mean think about 2006, when the tower was going to be completed in 2009... And remember how many times the Top-Out day of 1WTC was changed?

Unbelievable and unforgettable what happened. Until today I'm sad for what happened to New Yorkers and Americans, and all humanity.
Cheers from Brazil.
