I dunno, based on what's been constructed so far, is it just me or does it seem like Tower 2 has very small floorplates? It seems so narrow compared to the rest of the WTC towers.

Tower 2 has the biggest footprint, apparently.

Well, here, let's do a comparison. Perhaps what's already been constructed isn't representative of the actual office floors, but they just seem like they're small. Maybe it appears much different in person.

Here is the base as it is stands today. I've cut off the trading floors to illustrate the office floorplate.

Photo originally by Joe Woolhead at WTC.com

And here's what a typical midrise floorplan may look like.

It may just be an issue of perspective, but it seems like it's "small" compared to the other towers.

From WTC.com:

3 WTC: Office floor plates will range from 29,000 to 44,000 square feet

2 WTC: Office [floor plates] will vary in size from 41,000 to 45,000 square feet

It's difficult to tell purely from renderings, but I think once both towers 2 and 3 begin their uninterrupted vertical accent, it will become apparent that tower 2 is much larger than 3.

Once they get the money, not very long since the foundation and underground levels (the most complicated part of a skyscraper) are already built

Agree, it's for sure 2 and 3 WTC will go on hold. And i think that won't be for just the one or other month.
Especially 2WTC could go on hold for 1 or even two years.

I think a better analogy would be WTC2
No redesign that I know of except some details in cladding.

Nope! Thats changed to. The original 2003-2006 design was suppost to be 338 meters high (1,108 feet)

And now we have the new one that is 441 meters high (1,446 feet high)

No...? Where did you get your info from. 2 WTC is going to be 1,358 feet tall.

Everyone has forgotten about that original design, because I think it was just a massing model. Also 2 WTC is 411 meters, not 441

So? I'm not asking for the designs, I'm telling you it's not 1,447 feet, it's 1,358...your height was wayy off

Yeah, that was never an official design for 2WTC. They've been called "Libeskind Placeholder" around here, seems apt. All of the towers had one at one point.

Can someone explain to me, the diamonds at the top of WTC2, when I look at all the renders, they seem to be mis-shapen compared to each other. The angles and lengths of the sides relative to each other seem different. Is this some kind of visual illusion caused by the perspective, bad rendering, or are they in fact not identical in shape? I hope not the latter because it makes it look very wonkey.

They aren't identical in shape due to the dimensions of the building through which the cut is made. It isn't a rectangular box. The floorplate is a hexagon that is elongated into something resembling a simple rectangle.
