Money isn't truly a problem, the problem is the completely flawed construction plan. If Larry had enough money to build towers 4 and 7 by now, he would also have enough of it to build 2WTC instead of those two by now. The priority should have been 2, 3, 4, 7 and not 7, 4, 3, 2. This is the true problem, Larry is greedy as hell and rather builds short towers insignifficant to the skyline than landmarks

...are you not aware that they had to clean the site before they could construct anything...7 was constructed first because there were no bodies on that site and cleanup there was much faster than the rest of the site.

Not to mention the approval process of finally deciding what (if) they were going to even build.

It definitely should have been 2, 3, 4 on the order, following 7 of course. 2WTC is by far the most unique design and unparalleled by 3WTC and 4WTC in my opinion. Foster, along with Pelli, is my favorite architect, and I am always thrilled when he wins the bid for a design in New York.

Firstly, To call Larry "greedy of hell" is obviously rude. This man could have retired. He's getting old, but yet he choose to build these towers anyhow.
Almost 11 years he has spent, and he's greedy to some of you.
Tower 7 had to be rebuilt, the Con Edison Sub-station is below 7 world trade center.
Secondly, Tower 7 and 4 have a very good impact on the skyline. At one point, tower 7 was one of the tallest down there, and still looks tall, so does 4.

No, money and the lack of tenants are the true problems. Again, you can't just build towers because of the idea that they could become landmarks.

Even though ~ $2,000,000,000 have been given to Silverstein for the rebuilding, the complex still costs ~ $12,500,000,000, and $10,000,000,000 doesn't just fall from the sky. Yes, Larry should have thought to build 2WTC before 3WTC and 4WTC, but since 4WTC had already been given the green light before the recession caused financial difficulties, he couldn't do anything when there ended up being only enough money and tenants for either 2WTC or 3WTC, because he doesn't need to spend $400,000,000 more just for a more iconic building. We all wish he could have predicted this mess, but we are 5 years too late, so can we try to get over it now??

true..for my part, I think I have no clue, what conditions have to be fulfilled to build a building like this.. I just see its beauty and think: 'what the hell are you waiting for' well, I know that you can't build a building without the need for space.. and you don't build it neither, if you don't expect any profit..

would be too easy, just to build a building, because it would look awsome in that skyline

Seven got built first because the plot wasn't plagued of political issues unlike the rest of the WTC site. As soon as the cleanup began, engineers started working on a structure that could sit above the Con Edison substation and support a whole new tower.

Four was the next on the list because the Port Authority was demanding 15 floors for their new offices, followed by the intervention of the City of New York.

Don't worry everyone! I'm sure that even if it takes years, the most beautiful building of the WTC project will be built. I guess we should let the developers finish 1 and 4 fully first so they can free their hands a bit.
