It'll get built, they just need more space leased.

There are a lot of companies looking for huge amounts of space:

Time Warner
Newscorp
Credit Suisse
Ralph Lauren
Citicorp
White & Case

The north tower of the HY can only handle one of them as an anchor.

I wonder, Time Warner Center will be much more empty when the main tenant moves right?

Why they would construct space to only move out of 6 years later is beyond me...

400 to 500 million reason why is my guess. The way trophy buildings are being purchased in Manhattan these days it may be the time to sell and move. I have heard reports that the Time Warner Twins can go anywhere from $1.4 to $1.5 Billion should TW make the move and sell.

Coach just paid Related $750 million for approximately for 750,000 s ft for part of the Coach Tower. I think Time Warner would be looking for 1 m sf and if they decide to purchase part of Related's North Tower and they would probably pay somewhere in the neighborhood of $1 Billion. The rest of the proceeds of the TW sale will be in their pocket.

Not too shabby investment wise.

I expect that part of its space will be converted to condos and part will be converted to boutique office space for hedge funds willing to pay $135/sf.

It's just that the air ducts (?) and septic tanks (?) are covering most of the footprint, it's hard to find where the tower's main frame will be and its core (if that's begun yet). I guess I'm just spoiled with 432 Park's work site.

The main priority is to get the major buildings functioning, Tower 2 upper mechanical floors will provide permanent HVAC and MEP equipment for the hub, but until that happens, temporary electrical equip. needs to be installed, its not a mater of beauty but rather functionality and security.

The WTC site, compared to 432, holds an extreme amount of trades, where construction logistics is anything but an easy task. Add that to the fact that two major owners are simultaneously working on the same ground.

Although barely noticeable to the naked eye, the management of construction logistics made by these folks is just extraordinary.

I've also been impressed with the logistics for these projects. There are basically 6 major construction projects going on simultaneously in a very small area yet there appears to be very minimal interference between them. It's quite easy to accomplish for a single building site like 432 Park or many of the others but for one of the scale is a major accomplishment!

It will be interesting to see if the Hudson Yards project logistics looks anywhere as smooth when it starts full construction!

You need to do a little bit more research, or just look at the past few pages.

TWO WORLD TRADE CENTER WILL NOT BE BUILT UNTIL 3WTC IS NO LONGER ON HOLD!!!!

In other words, 2WTC will NOT be under construction before 3WTC

I appreciate you giving us updates, but jumping to conclusions like that is what is making some people angry. Just post what you see and ask Otie what they're doing next time.

By the way, where are you getting this info?

They probably will use tower cranes when construction resumes.
