4WTC is larger than 2WTC and 3WTC both.

Yea your right! forgot about that. Cross UBS off the list.

Really? Wow. I'm surprised. Not because 2 WTC is much taller but it just looks to be huge and wider than the all the other towers (incl. 1 WTC) from this model display shown below.

That is incorrect. 4WTC is smaller then 2 and 3WTC

This diagram is to scale:

From Wikipedia:

1WTC: 3.5
2WTC: 2.45
3WTC: 2.25
4WTC: 2.5

In millions of square feet, obviously.

I could have sworn 2WTC would have more floor space than 1WTC. It's as wide as the Twins were from most angles.

Well 2WTC has a smaller width then the Twins did, while it may be longer, it is still considerably less then the original towers floor space. And adding onto that, a lot of space is taken away from the sliced off portion of the diamonds and the roof height is not the same.

According to Silverstein's website:
http://www.wtc.com/leasing/leasing-tower-2

2 WTC = 3.1 m sq ft
3 WTC = 2.5 m sq ft
4 WTC = 2.3 m sq ft
7 WTC = 1.7 m sq ft

On Durst's website for tower 1:
http://www.durst.org/properties/one-world-trade-center

1 WTC = 3 m sq ft

If these figures are accurate posted by the building owners, then I'm not surprised that 2 WTC just edges Tower 1 in total sq footage, because 2WTC looks to be bulkier than Tower 1 from the models.

It makes a little more sense that it is slightly larger in floor space than 1WTC, because the cut corners that 1WTC has.

Beautiful render.

It's like four separate crystals rising from the ground in a cluster.

I pray this tower remain untouched.

Blood will be shed if they have to alter the design for costs.

That's why it is a good thing that it is on hold for now. Plus, I don't see anything that would save any real money if removed.

My favorite feature of this tower is the aluminium fins on the curtain wall. Nice touch.

interesting how 2 and 3 WTC's base seemingly swapped cladding schemes. 2 WTC was supposed to be the darker of the two, but 3 WTC now has the black cladding wrapping around at it's base. I will miss those 'slits' in the curtain wall, but it's not a big loss.

I see a lot of things that could be removed to save money.

Merge all the 'diamonds'
Flatten the top of 2WTC
Remove antenna on top

Actually merging the diamonds would require more money, not less. If you were to merge them you are creating much more money for materials to fill in the space, such as rebar, concrete, utilities, etc...

Not to mention the subgrade levels are already prepared to receive the loads of current structural design. No need to add more stress.
