Currently there is no construction at all, the building is on hold. It'll remain on hold until a big tenant shows up

Dumb questions shouldn't deserve answers.

This ON HOLD building has been on the top page of Proposed Supertalls almost permanently. Why I have no idea. No new construction has taken place since mid 2012.

Members need to just be patient and leave this thread alone until actual news comes along.

But he's new. He registered this month and he has only 21 posts. I remember that when I registered in 2011 on this forum I had no clue about skyscrapers and no clue about what the individual states of a skyscraper mean (like prep, u/c, on hold, etc.). He just needs some time to get to know the world of skyscrapers better. It is the duty of us older forumers to educate new forumers

I don't.
(understand what you mean)

If it was so popular under potential tenants, it would probably have topped out already.

Very true!!
Every time I watch the stock market, I hope that some of the recent Dow climbs, will trickle down to a company needing a lot of office space in NYC. Come on economy, we so need this tower to be built

I hate to break it to you but the stock market no longer has any connection to reality. The Dow can go as high as the Fed wants it to be, but it's not going to impact anything.

I never said it did....directly. What I said was that if a company recently had a big surge in growth and needed to expand or relocate, perhaps they would do so by leasing space in 2WTC. There doesn't have to be a direct connection from the stock market to reality for it to trickle down to a company needing more office space in NYC. If people invest in a company(buy stocks), that company usually grows and needs more office space. By watching the stock market, one can see this growth happen. Google and Facebook sure aren't using the same amount of office space they had when they were only 2 months old are they?

NY filling millions of square feet of space during a languid economy, and while the market is strong, "Wall St" is not doing that well worldwide. When the general economy is very strong in a few years, 2 WTC will get a tenant, if not sooner.

Whenever this gets built, I wonder what color cladding will this get?

I've seen renders where 200 Greenwich has a dark greyish black cladding and in others blue like 1 wtc and 4 wtc.

I kind of like and hope for black cladding for this. This tower would stand out in everyway from the design and the color from the rest of the complex. Just my .02 cents.

What would be your preference?

From Otie: The facade is pretty similar to 1WTC and 4WTC. The revised design scrapped both the standard intermediate spandrels located every 2 floors and the bigger intermediate spandrels every 5 floors. The glass surfaces are now completely flat and smooth, with 1' stainless steel vertical fins potruding the facade, these were added to link Tower One's simple facade with Tower Three's exposed structure.
