The spires were not removed on 3 WTC. Nothing has been changed.

Once again Rupert Murdoch ruins everything he touches.

Glad that the spires are staying, that design has been watered down enough already! the last thing you want here are a series of nondescript all-glass boxes. hardly inspiring for such an important place in such a beautiful city.

BIG has all of the renderings on their website and some more (interiors)

http://www.big.dk/#projects-2wtc

RIP Foster's design. It was booted to accommodate media tenants and replaced by leaning tower which looks like a jagged glass box.

As you can see in the video, and probably why the building is so boxy, the floor plan is quite open.

Sigh.

I must say, i am done with this tower. I am no more excited to see itīs construction. The entire WTC will be a project that will take up to over 20 years to be recostructed, and the result will be sort of disappointing. At least Fosterīs design made it look coherent, sort of nailed into the skyline, with a sophisticated roof and iconic appeal, this has nothing of an icon, itīs just a bland modernist POS that NY will regret in decades to come. I canīt see how this could give the skyline a distinctive look at all. Itīs just so frustrating to see a perfect design gone and replaced by a pile of crap.

Every bit of goodwill Bjarke Ingels built up with me for their great 57th Street Pyramid has completely evaporated.

This is a terrible, hideous new design.

Fox News does not deserve to be in New York City.

For the past 13+ years they have literally been trying as hard as possible to screw up the WTC site in as many ways possible.

It seems that way at least... although it could have been a lot worse.

Mixed feelings! From some angles it looks great, the slants from the Hudson side compliments the tapering of 1WC, with the set backs complimentomg 3 and 4wtc

It also acts more of a twin to 1WTC from certain angles also

But some angles, the massing looks off, looks bloated...

I do think this is a nice tower, contemporary and interesting to see a tower of this size can have it's weight shift with the cantilevers yet still be sturdy!

My main gripe is that the original design is timeless along with the other trade centre buildings... where as this will most likely date faster

This will either be known as a fantastic tower and perhaps the star of the world trade centre or will be hated among most people I recon... a bit like Marmite

The one tower that was everyones favorite, of course it would be ruined, why wouldn't it. The more i see the new design the more i like it. It is definitley interesting and i think the news streaming when you look up under each box is cool as well

I think as time goes on people will calm down and maybe it will start growing on them. It could turn out great... but not as great as Foster's design. This is just how it is though, we gotta live with it.. so might as well look at the positives and try not to focus on the negatives! Thats the way i see it at least.
