This is not a great building. This is something you'd find as a background building in Shenzhen. In fact, background buildings in Shenzhen are better than this.

I'll be honest and people might hate me for saying this, but from some angles it's actually growing on me already. Not only is it a solid 1340 footer (409 meters) but it's immensely wide and imposing.

We all know its not Fosters design, which was probably one of the best skyscrapers designed, but lets be real, its not that bad. I mean the guy really can't compete with Fosters design, anything he designed wouldn't have been on par regardless.

If it didn't have setbacks, people would complain it was just a box.
It does have setbacks, people complain that it isn't a box.

Honestly we all have to get over it, accept it, and move on, a little petition isn't going to do much.

Yes, but it's not exactly like Foster's design cannot be built. At first most of us thought there were only going to be changes to the base, but now this has become an ego game to make a tower that's unique rather than make a tower that actually respects the site. I wonder if they can use the design but just stack Foster's diamonds on top of it so at least we get something? The diamonds were really what made the tower.

Also, the petition already has 28 supporters. Has anyone on skyscraperpage heard about it yet?

Couldn't they have just made the bottom half of Foster's design bigger if that's what FOX wanted?!

I posted the other day that we were probably all in denial, and turns out to be true. They aren't going to add diamonds, its obvious the design isn't changing if they already put it up on the website. This is it. They're not changing a design for a few skyscraper followers to like better.

Honestly a petition with 28 signatures, or 100, or 500, or 1,000 won't do anything.

On this side of the setbacks it looks good but the other side is and pluse I think the base is to to long and enormous it should be simple like the rest of the WTC towers bases.

Well, I took some time to look at the renderings, and it's actually not that bad. I'll just keep following the construction process and see what we end up with.

I could deal with this design if it wasn't for the stupid cantilevering part on the north side.

What a joke the site is becoming (the WTC site, not SSC).

If they get rid of the cantilever, shorten the base to the original foundation, shorten those long setbacks, and add like a crown or a design to the side facing the memorial.

This is such an emotional design that the building is in tiers. Tribeca consists of blocks of buildings, so they made a building out of blocks. Bjarke, what a "genius."

foster's design is better in every way!
I honestly can't see what people see in this tower! It's horrible. A complete insult to the WTC, NYC, and Foster, a brilliant architect who designed one of my favorite designs in NY only to be beaten out by this because Fox sayed they wanted different offices. Why not keep foster on the project and re-design the tower accordingly where it looks nice and functions properly.
I really hope this tower grows on me, otherwise I will be very disappointed in the whole site.

None of this would've happened if Fox News didn't decide to move to downtown lol

Hopefully the original Foster design gets built somewhere else in the city.
Maybe east of the WTC complex somewhere else in Downtown.

I do like this design from certain angles. Others not as much. It is definitely more imposing than the Foster design.
