You can't rush the foundations. they've got to be solid and that takes time by definition. Besides guys - this is not just some place and some tower - this is still Ground Zero. security detail is much higher here so it also contributes to the length of the process.

I wonder if they'll increase the height of the pinnacle to match the roof height of 1TWC. I think it's only a matter of 18 feet.

What I think I see is a bed of concrete laid in the bottom of the trench with steel plates covering that. And of course some steel rods sticking put from the middle of said trench

They are putting rebar in the trench, which is full of muddy water from the recent rainstorm.

Seeing that early footprint of brings back the memories of when workers were at this stage building Tower 1. The foundations might be a pain and take long, but in the end there won't be many buildings that can compete with T2.

Only 10 feet, the building is 1358 feet high, that's what the official website says, aswell as on SSP. The thread title is mistaken.

So actually it's really only 4 feet from the south tower's roof yet I think they should make the roof of this tower which is 1278 feet as high as the old twins. But they may have a slight redesign for both towers 2 and 3, so it could happen, no one really knows.

I still can't decide which is my favorite, 2WTC or 3WTC. I chop and change my opinion on this all the time

I really like that last render, the comparison with the original WTC. It looks like Foster took some inspiration from them, which is of course to be expected.
