That way the already planned studio space could still be used to a degree.
Viacom is in the midst of a messy Sumner Redstone succession/board fight. Until that dust settles any big strategic moves will have to wait.

there is another problem, connecting with new ugly axe-like design,

the problem is that the foundation in original 200 Greenwhich has hexagon shape:

and, in new design-rectangular shape, i combine this two different designs into one picture, and pointed the basic collums

if they wanted build tower in new design-they must change the foundation first.

That problem was identified and the solution explained early on when the new design 1st appeared. The new design incorporates beams and sheer walls that transfer the load of the new design onto the existing foundation. It would be next to impossible to modify the existing foundations because of all the interconnected underground utilities and access ways.

The original wtc 2 sloping design is still the best and only tower that can really compliment the new wtc complex.

There's "ghost" spires on 3WTC in that rendering.

I'm finally starting to tolerate BIG's 2 WTC. I really like the cladding but still not much of the tower itself.

Still, a tower on that location shouldn't be ''tolerated'' by people, but loved!

I have to say, that I really like the BIG design of 2WTC. I'm pretty sure that I'm the minority with this opinion, but I think it will look good between the other towers. Personally I like the "interaction" of 2WTC leaning towards 1WTC. Never really got convinced by the previous diamond design.

I like how they spice up these renders with some trees on the terraces, but keep in mind that they will turn into ghost trees on the next render as they will never ever end up on the actual tower.

Indeed. And there should at least be something as good as the Foster design on the site now !
Preferable even better and more stunning than that.
