Does anyone know if there'll be any public access at the top of the tower, in that open section?

My apologies if it's already been discussed.

Wait a second, the tower crane is a TG-2300B.

NYguy just posted a pic of it over at the SSP forum for T2.

We're critiquing cranes now?

As long as it can do it's job. That's all that matters.

Do someone agrees with me that this tower should be nicer if was square on layout, ir order to have the 4 rhombus on the top in vertical simmetry, instead of actual asimmetry?

I have done a quick photoshop, and I prefer my option, wich is also less "big-header"

P.D. Don´t look on the botton, it´s not finnished

Symmetry is boring sometimes. I believe the diamonds at the top are pointed towards the ground at certain angles for a reason, to point towards the memorial

Doesn't mean much to me. I think this tower is pretty much perfect. Just stunning.

I didn´t change the angles, which are the same in 4 diamonds. If you look in other sides (frontal view from a elevation) you would check it.

I really love the tower. I think it is the best, and it had been lovely if this would the the no. 1, 541m of heigh. And is the only one that keep the original idea which won the international contest, whith the top cut on angle...

But I´m very sure that for a reason of need of office occupable area, not for design (I guess, following the usual kind of design of Mr Foster) is larger in one side that the other, so is an rectangule on plan, instead of square, so when you cut that shape, you get an irregular rhombus.

My idea is: is the better of the WTC, but would be perfect in this case.

People, you better remember how this crane looks like, because one day, this crane will be so high over the lower Manhattan...

What do you think insurance costs on a building like this?

Just to reiterate what I said in the 1WTC thread, I wish this building were the tallest of the bunch, but I do love spires (antennas) on the top of buildings which probably wouldn't look too cool on the 2WTC. I love this building--and would love to see more of it in that skyline.
