Once tower 1 and four get their whole buildings almost all leased then the only buildings left will be 2 and 3. By the time 2 and 3 reach the podium and the podiums are completed, then by that time (hopefully) 1 and four would be almost all leased. Therefore 2 and 3 will get leased. Or the economy stays the same a year later, then we have no hope.

Like Zen mentioned a while back, if the economy remains the same 1 year from now, the construction of these towers will be the least of anyone's concerns.

Not to worry though, 2011 is looking infinitely more optimistic than 2010 as far as economy goes.

Construction starts were down 24% in 2009 compared to 2008. ( This does not count housing starts, or any project under $1 million.)

This just in, construction starts in 2010 were UP 2% compared to 2009. (Still well short of 2007 figures.)

The price of steel has ticked up an average of 2 cents a pound every month for the last 4 months. (Shows an increase in demand.) (A typical beam in T2 weighs about 1,800 pounds, that beam now costs $144 more than it did in October. 42 cents a pound vs 50 cents a pound.)

Everything points to an economic recovery, except the price of gold. (Inflation fears ?)

Last monday i was treated to the sight of one of the cranes taking a concrete dump off to some point on the site from right near the fence on vessey street. I gotta tell you, seeing that concrete moving up into the air gave me chills, i really think this whole rebuilding will be completed as planned.

Just for my orientation, is this the Verazzano Bridge? I ran it in 2006, my first and only NYC Marathon (Hope to run it again, sometime...)

That's actually a picture of the rainbow bridge in Tokyo, for some reason.

yeah right, I thought the Statue of Liberty was too close, but that could also have been due to the perspective. Anyway, looking better at the back of the photo you could see a whole different skyline then Manhattan....I'm sorry!!

Yeah if that was the Verazzano, it would be hell'a bigger. And the statue of liberty would be on the other side

Glenn Beck telling his audience that it's such a great deal, which since he locked in months earlier, to him it is.

Also notice the concrete wall which is going up at the western end of the plot.

edit: this one shows the plot of tower 2 even better:
