Actualy I think there are some cases when max. capacity can be achived. For an example these cranes can work on bogie with short boom at the construction of power plant.

But 230t capacity is probably for very small working radius (I suppose to 5m) and short jib.

Here ( http://www.sergiobetancourt.com/webs...gcranes_04.jpg ) you can find capacity of 2300B at 13.72m radius and 48.77m of boom: 76 205 kg.

Also here is capacity at the same above parameters for TG1900 crane (one of such cranes started job at WTC3, but with new engine, winch and cab): 58 061kg.
thank you good sir

Oh my God. Seeing how small the worker in the picture is makes me really see just how big the core is

Remember seeing the picture showing the gigantic crane chassis being unloaded on street level and how unbelievably huge it was?
Well, there it is on the middle left edge of that picture.. Not so huge anymore.

does anyone else think that 1429 is unrealistically tall? why does ssp say that? If that ended up being true it would be insane, nice building anyway..

Nice update! Still lots of work to be done. I am glad the 2WTC is progressing rapidly as least expected.

I don't think there's been any redesign. I think they are just measuring the height from a lower elevation. CTBUH modified their height measuring rules a couple years back. Towers like Trump Chicago and Aqua gained additional height under the new rules.

80 more feet seems like a heck of a lot, personally I think some folks are stretching things...

I hope it's true though. It'd beat out quite a few other skyscrapers around the world if it was 1429 feet

No, it's just NYGuy being wrong. He's the Mod though, so it's his right to label threads however he wants to, even if it is incorrect.
