^Yep. 2WTC's spire goes to 1,349 feet. The parapet and roof (sort of) is at 1,270, the last floor is about 50 feet below that.

It's wide angle perspective. It stretches objects on the periphery, making things in the center look smaller by comparison.

This is a narrower angle shot from further away, which results in a less distorted product.

Westfield in $546m Trade Centre deal

Quote:
FRANK Lowy's Westfield Group has returned to the World Trade Centre in downtown Manhattan, close to 10 years after a devastating terrorist attack demolished the area.
In a deal with the New York Port Authority, Westfield will pay $US612.5 million ($A546.3 million) for a 50 per cent share of the joint venture.
Westfield, which first acquired a share of the retail area of the site in July 2001, sold back that stake in December 2003 as it moved to simplify its corporate structure.

Property trust analysts said the deal was in line with Westfield's stated strategy of focusing on development opportunities and selling down non-core assets.
The group is now engaged in selling 10 per cent of its US assets, or about 17 of its US malls, with the cash to go into new projects.
Simon Wheatley, Goldman Sachs's executive director of real estate investment research, said the property management earnings would provide an ongoing, but minor group benefit.
''We see the announcement as mildly positive, giving Westfield access to a high-profile US investment,'' Mr Wheatley said.
''We had expected that Westfield would have the opportunity for first look at the centre when it gets redeveloped again.''
Peter Lowy, Westfield's Los Angeles-based joint chief executive, said the deal could increase by a further US$37.5 million based on the achievement of agreed yield targets.
''Plans for the retail premises currently include about 365,000 square feet (37,750 square metres) of leasable space spread across multiple levels including in the new World Trade Centre Transportation Hub, with concourses that will connect throughout all portions of the site, as well as at street level and above grade in [towers] three and four World Trade Centre.''
He said the plans included an additional 90,000 square feet of retail space that would be added when Two World Trade Centre was developed. The initial phase of the retail is expected to open in early 2015.
Mr Wheatley said he had run estimates that suggested the cost per square foot to build the new centre would be almost the same as the cost to build Westfield Sydney.

^about 900 feet above the area they're working on now. I don't know the number of floors off the top of my head, but feel free to count and report back:

That's what I got as well. 60th floor is the first floor to start making the bottom diamond.

I read somewhere that the diamonds started forming at 935 feet, but I forgot the link to the source, but that sounds about right.

This is probably the best tower in the world trade center complex. But its office space, retail, and lobby only partially replace the old twin towers, but I heard there was also gonna be apartments, a cafe, and a bar in this tower.

Yup, those are the perimeter columns. I made a mistake, they will NOT support the entire tower, somehow I believed those where from the core.

I think you can see the difference between perimeter columns and tower columns, they are thinner:

I think if this tower would have been the highest of the entire complex, including the tower higher than one would be the icon of the city no doubt along with the Empire State and Chrysler, but a shame that beautiful design is not the most high, however beautiful the resort and this particular building the most beautiful.
