Technically, they're still putting forms up for the core of B2 and the floor slab for B1. We're close, but it'll be a few weeks.

I dunno but can it take a half year to complete just a few underground levels once the building is topped out to street level? I dunno so I apologize if I'm wrong

If all would go perfectly we could have a fully rebuilt WTC in 2015 .... however there is one big imperfection which is demand. Towers 2 and 3 will only go up once Larry secures tenants for them, which won't happen until 4WTC is fully leased. There are some government tenants in 4WTC but it is far from being full. I'm a pessimist my entire life so my bets for tower 2 and 3 are 3WTC 2015 and 2WTC 2018

For once I think Kanto could be right.

Unless there is a huge surge in lease signings, T2 is going to go on hold. And probably for a couple years till T4 and T3 fill up. Lets say it restarts in 2014 or '15, then it'll take about three years to finish. 2018 is very possible.

I think best case, it may go on hold for only a year, restart in 2013, + three years to finish, completed in 2016.

I said my bets are that they'll be completed in those years. Betting isn't facts, betting is just betting for fun You can make bets too, which year do you bet these towers will be completed?

Your talking 6 years for something that's already started. A building that won't be half as hard to build as 1 WTC. Let them put it on hold first, then decide when it's going to finish.

First off, WTC 4 does not need to 100% leased, or even any where near there for Silverstein to secure tenants for WTC 2 and 3.

Both towers 2 and 3 have massive trading floors, which large financial institutions crave. So take Citi and Credit Suisse who have both been looking for somewhere to consolidate space in the case of Citi, and in the case of Credit Suisse, looking for more modern offices, they're currently at the old Met Life Tower on 23rd and Madison, and occupy a few buildings surrounding that building, north across 24th, and east across Park Ave.

So if Citi wanted the trading floors in Tower 2 and say 500,000 sf, and Credit Suisse wanted the trading floors in Tower 3 and 500,000 sf both would be built, with no delay, and those are seriously possible/realistic predictions. It's not a matter of, we have to fill up Tower 1 and 4, then we can work on 2 and 3, it's a matter of, let's get anchor tenants for 2 and 3, while we also look to fill out Tower 4 and float the upper floors of Tower 1.

A recent article in The Observer said that NINE companies are looking at space at the Hudson Yards, and each of them needs AT LEAST 1 MILLION SF. Any lease anywhere near 1M sf in either 2 or 3 would get them built no delay. With that in mind, a CoolCzech on SSP heard a radio interview that Silverstein gave and this is the quote, "he hinted STRONGLY that he will have news about new tenants in the next few weeks for ALL the towers."

Hope that clears up some confusion.

I think they should save the naming rights. WTC would have to part of the name. It's something I would do.

Found the interview with Silverstein. Sounds reasonably promising.

I hope you're right so much. It would be awesome if my pesimism would be unfounded But until I see a big company announcing that they'll lease space at 3WTC or at 2WTC, I'll be, as I'm always, a skeptical pesimist

I think there's about 3 years worth of construction remaining after this hits grade level. I'd say 18-24 months to top out, then a year or so to finish up all internal work. So if they have to stop in mid '12, and go on hold for a year. Then 30-36 months to finish (finished in 2016). That seems a reasonable schedule to me...
