Please pardon an off-topic question. I can't find a 4WTC thread in the SSC lists. Has it vanished altogether? Or is it not a supertall?

It's not a supertall it's like 297 meters so it would be under skyscrapers.

Yes it is. WTC1 is also nice, but the other two towers are not special. WTC 2 is elegant and beautiful.

My problem with 2 WTC is that it only looks good from one angle, the angle where you can see the diamonds of the slanted roof. From all other angles, I think it's just really bland and ugly, and it takes some of the thunder away from 1 WTC because it's so tall.

I've got a small question on folks who know something about the contract between Larry and the PA, is it still possible that 2WTC will be built before 3WTC? Or does the contract forbid it?

If a tenant said definitively that they wanted T2 over T3, then they'll build T2 instead. But I seriously doubt that would happen. T3 will cost over $200 million less to build than T2. So there is that to take into consideration. T3 is the one they're pushing for.

Thanks for the info

Btw, just one small question, the 200 million less than 2WTC cost is the cost of the original design or the new one after the height reduction and bracing removal?

Unknown. But if so, then the difference between T3 and T2 will be even more. So from an affordibility standpoint, it makes even more sense to start T3 over T2.

The main part of the difference will obviously be in the difference in height/floors.

I think they are good points. Also, the good angle is one that's not viewable from most positions where people would be in new york, it faces out to sea, which is a pity. Most of all I don't like how the top diamond looks different from the others.

I agree with you, they should have made the top diamond look like the other three by scraping the tripod spire idea and making the "roof" to be the top of the top diamond

That's true of many towers. Look at 122 Leadenhall in London.
