A new Volvo route has been introduced (365V) which is a combination of 365 and 25F:

Bannerghatta to KBS via Jayadeva Circle, Carmel convent, Sanjay gandhi hospital, Jayanagar 4th block, South end circle, Lalbagh west gate, Minerva circle and Corporation.

I'm not sure how long they will retain this route though..

BMTC launches AC service to Hoskote through Kadugodi
Residents in numerous layouts and apartment communities in and around the Kadugodi area north of Whitefield have something to cheer. After a long wait, BMTC launched an extension of the 335E Vajra (Volvo) AC bus service to Hoskote. The route is 335-EK and runs along the Whitefield Hoskote Road connecting the Kadugodi bus terminus to Hoskote terminus.

335-EK bus launch. Pic credit awaited

Many citizens in this area have been asking for an extension of this service for a few years now. Petitions had been sent to BMTC in late 2010 and early 2011. At that time BMTC officials had said they would need to survey commuter interests in the area before taking a decision.
The just-launched 335-EK will run across the entrances of a number of communities such as 10 Downing, Chaithanya Samarpan, Akshaya Redstone, Janapriya Apartments, Nitesh Estates, Purab Manor, Golden Blossom and more. Citizens commuting to ITPL, KTPL, Brookfields and into city areas of Old Airport Road and the central business district surrounding M G Road area, now have a direct connection.

Prior to this, public-transport-interested citizens had to use the regular non-AC buses to get to Kadugodi bus stand and hop-on to a regular 335-E Vajra. Unlike Volvo 335E, the 335-EK bus takes a shortcut near the iGate and Kalyani Platina office complexes and reaches Cosmos Mall faster. 335E has to come through the Graphite India Signal (T Junction), which is usually jammed heavily at peak hours.
There are five BMTC bus stops between Golden Blossom at Kadugodi flyover and 10 Downing. Their informal names are: Kadugodi flyover, Bethur, Seeghehalli, Shell Petrol Bunk, and Sai Lakshmi. There are also stops between Sai Lakshmi and the NH-4 intersection including one near the Safal supermarket.
BMTC’s initial frequency plan for 335-EK at the Majestic and Hoskote ends is below. Some citizens are worried that BMTC may use the service experimentally and pull out later if ridership targets are not met.
Speaking to Citizen Matters, BMTC Divisional Controller K M Auradkar declined comment on whether this was an experimental service. “We would like the citizens of the area to use the service in large numbers”, is all he would say on the record.

Having said that I am happy to see a Minister saying the best buses from other parts of the world will be brought to Bangalore and hopefully Tier II cities as well. Nice to see a Minister talking like a member of SSC I. If the ITS takes off in Mysore, other cities in Karnataka can also replicate it hopefully.

The idea behind it that currently many do not use public transport because it is crowded. Once more number of buses ply, the buses will be less crowded and more people will leave their private transport. IF that happens, then one bus will be reducing so many cars.

Its not just crowding. First, many of the buses-older ones esp-are not very comfortable. Second buses should have English and Kannada both to attract non-Kannada reading crowd. Third, proper bus stops are missing in several places.

Scrapping BRT best option, says study
Rumu Banerjee, TNN | Jul 17, 2012, 02.22AM IST
Quote:
NEW DELHI: After examining various scenarios on the Ambedkar Nagar-Moolchand bus rapid transit corridor, the Central Road Research Institute (CRRI) has pronounced that "the no BRT option yields better benefits for this corridor". It submitted its final report on Monday to Delhi high court and the transport department of Delhi government. Over a month ago, the high court had asked the state government to get a fresh, "scientific" study conducted on the stretch by an independent agency.

The CRRI has visualized three scenarios for the corridor in 2015, based on existing traffic volume and projections for the future. "The trial run scenario in 2015 will reduce the total travel time and stopped delays (time spent at an intersection waiting for the signal) by 39 per cent and 48 per cent, respectively," says the report. The trial run here refers to CRRI's experimental run with mixed traffic in all the lanes.

The report, which is based on various traffic studies conducted by CRRI besides the trial run that took place from May 12-19, makes a strong case for mixed traffic on the corridor by doing away with the bus lane.

"The results of the trial run conducted on the corridor reiterated the fact that allowing other vehicles to ply on the earmarked lane for buses yielded better benefits for road users compared to the BRT situation," says the report.

The scenario envisaged by CRRI is based on existing traffic volume and factors in a likely increase in traffic by 2015 at 5-7 per annum.
There is not much capacity difference between normal bus and brts. Not just delhi, ahmedabad brts has its own problem http://www.ahmedabadmirror.com/artic...%E2%80%99.html Best is to avoid it in bangalore

Six Airavat buses to have loo, pantry

Quote:
BANGALORE: If you are waiting to travel in a bus which will offer you food and toilet facilities without having to get down at designated stops, then here it is. The Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) is launching such services on Wednesday in select buses. Six multi-axle Volvo buses will have toilets and two of them will also have in-house pantry services.

The Airavat buses with toilet facilities will now be called Airavat Superia and those with both toilets and in-house pantry will be named Airavat Bliss. KSRTC had announced such an initiative on April 20 to make long-distance travelling a world-class experience, particularly for the elderly and those with children.

Officials told TOI that the toilets will be cleaned by maintenance staff of KSRTC and the food provided will be outsourced to a private vendor. "We will later outsource the entire pantry service to the vendor, depending on demand. Also, buses which ply for more than 10 hours, like the ones to Mumbai and Pune, will have a full-fledged in-house pantry service," said officials.

Of the six buses to have such facilities are those bound for Chennai and Tirupati. Also, two of the Airavat Bliss buses will have live television sets fixed behind the seats. They'll also be Wi-Fi enabled and can be tracked by Global Positioning System (GPS).
