After the Sedov she is the largest traditional sailing vessel still in operation on the surface of planet Earth.

Tallinn used to be a home harbour for "Krusenstern" from 1981 to 1991, as well as Riga from 1965 to 1981. The ship was surrendered to the USSR in 1946 as war reparation from Germany and renamed later, thou. Today her home harbours are Kaliningrad and Murmansk.

JUST TO KNOW:
Adam Johann von Krusenstern himself was a Baltic German explorer and admiral of the Russian Imperial Navy, who led the first Russian circumnavigation of the Earth.
Fabian Gottlieb von Bellingshausen was a Baltic German naval officer who commanded the second Russian expedition to circumnavigate the globe. During this expedition he became the first person to see the continent of Antarctica.
These two men were both born in Estonia. Krusenstern has been buried into Dome Church in Upper Old Town of Tallinn.

I was up there on the hills on northeastern Södermalm yesterday afternoon with some friends.
The views from Katarinavägen, Fjällgatan and around the Ersta hospital area over
central and northern Stockholm is just stunningly beautiful from those spots!

Pictures are coming soon!

(I recommend you all to go there with a camera asap)
