Edit: Actually, there used to be a paper mill in Skien that closed down in 2006. It's no longer there so you can now visit Skien without fear.
The paper mill in Skien was sold around 2004, and closed down around 05-06.
Its definitely not Porsgrunn.

That view will be so cool in the future with the nyhamnen project, with 9 highrises of approx. the same height as the ones seen on the picture, lining up along the rails. Almost like the Baracode project in Oslo!

Also the 90m high Dockan hotell will be seen in this view!

There are some pics of the nyhamnen project in this thread: http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showth...1063521&page=6

Similar to Barcode in mass, height (I would rather had seen 3-4 100m+ towers) and the way it transforms a currently dead area along centrally located railway lines, but not nearly as spectacular architecture in my opinion.

In any case, as you say, those nine towers (along with Dockan Hotel, Tyfonen, Niagara, Counterpoint etc.) will definitely improve this view a lot.

Sandvika Skyline with their art deco-ish city hall. It's a suburb of Oslo.

As far as I can see Barcode is double the mass of the Malmø project (+200.000 m2 vs 108.000m2), and in general higher. The Malmø project is still Nice though.

I actually thought the similarity was striking, everything considered.

It'll produce awesome skyline photos if they manage to build an urban context around TT

I wasn't speaking strictly in numbers, but rather how it will be perceived. The effect will be very similar to Barcode once completed -- a row of similarly sized midrise buildings.

Tested my new camera. There was stong wind outside and it was impossible to make clear shot with crappy tripod.

Vow - Oslo has rapidly made a largest cluster in N&B. Somehow wasn't noticed this fact until this picture.
