![]() I think that architecture in general in the Nordics is much better. At least as much as I can see from their new projects. I think that now we are reducing the gap, but the most of the first projects built at the beginning of the RE in the Baltics boom was more oriented to the best profit, but not for the enviroment. And for the commies, in my opinion, they look as foreign body in our cities much more than in the Nordics. They also have commies, but still maybe not in the same level as we do and their ones look more friendly. But that's just my opinion. In Lithuania the solid renovation of those is underway. Maybe this will change the situation. I guess there is something done with this in Estonia and Latvia also. Last edited by Giedrius_LT; November 16th, 2008 at 01:17 AM. |

Not really. I agree that they look alike, but none of them is considered a commieblock. See definition here: http://www.urbandictionary.com/defin...rm=commieblock

I know what is commieblock, I live into one. But what is commie-scraper? Generally communist built non-residential highrises aren't much different from western european capitalist-scrapers in 60ties or 70ties.

Oslo looks awesome from the gulf at night. After my first and so far last (I hope not) visit I never seen anything like this.
