Geleen - Holland

Geleen

Geleen is a small city (33.000 inhabitants) in the southern part of Holland. Hunderd years ago here were only a few little villages. When a huge coal mine was build nearby, the villages became a city with almost 40.000 inhabitants. The mine closed and a huge chemcial plant was build. Don't expect a beautifull city, but a real industry city, with a few nice areas, but also ugly ones...

A big part of Holland lies below! sea-level. Only the southern part of Holland (and a few other spots) are a bit hilly.
