The border with Gowanus is more practical if you are looking for less expensive. You have all the big avenues of Park Slope within walking distance. Try 4th Avenue in the lower numbered streets. 9th-1st. You could get a great view from a place on that strip.

All from a Google search...

DUMBO (not sure why I like it there so much)

Bronx-I thought this pic really shows how well some parts of NYC have recovered from the 80s.

Some I took this past summer:

Downtown Skyline

Court Chambers Bldg

Let's go to the mall!

Fulton Street Mall

Dirtiest Macy's I've ever been to. But hey, it's still a downtown dept store, a rare breed.

Skyline from subway window

Williamsburgh Savings Bank, Brooklyn's tallest

Washington Cemetery "skyline"

And a few panoramas:

(Sorry 'bout the haze, it was 96 degrees that day

HEY! This isn't Waikiki!

That's not what I meant. In terms of safety they're both safe. I was referring to aesthetics. Brooklyn Heights is pretty tidy while DUMBO you'll see a few messy streets/buildings (although I believe that was Vinegar Hill, I tend to get confused in terms of where each neighb. ends/begins.). In all, I like DUMBO more, I can't get enough of it's warehouses (although most have already been converted to residential)and cobble stoned streets.

Thanks for the sticky and the encouragement nygirl, I can finally post all those shots I've been saving for months. haha

Thats sexy...

Just beyond this is Fulton Ferry. The neighborhoods in this specific region of New York City tend to flow into one another. There are official borders but, to me, they are sort of unclear.

Brooklyn had a massive trolley system that intertwined with the rest of NYC.

Back in 1989 ConEd ran a "courtesy" trolley run on these streets.

Sorry all, I tried to merge the posts from Brooklyn Photos thread created by Seattle life to this new stickied thread. I'm still new at this so I kind of made the first page of this thread a little wacky. Its alright, I figure because we really care about the photos most. Hkskyline, I'm sorry, I do not know why but your posts did not seem to make it. However this will be the official Outter boroughs photo thread. Hkskyline, feel free to add the pictures that were lost in here.
The complications are minimal so I hope everyone still feels free to add photos and commentary in here. Enjoy the thread.

Found brooklyn shots by Krull and even though Jersey is not a borough of New York City...we can still consider it the 6th borough

Why was the title of this thread changed to "OuterBorough Photography"? Let this be just Brooklyn.

I'm planning to contribute.

Hey Lili. It will be better to consolidate the boroughs into one thread. So far all it has been is Brooklyn so I am hoping some of you guys from Queens and the Bronx jump into this thread as well.
You can still contribute Lili (and I hope you do) just use what ever photos you have taken or uploaded and put them here. I think this will one day be on par with the Amazing Manhattan photo thread with help from folks like you and Hk, KoolKid, etc., etc.

Got some Park Slope shots?
