Sunset park

Bobbycuzin, do you have another shot from Sunset Park that includes the Williamsburgh Savings building? I'd like a shot of the entire Brooklyn skyline from there.

It's about time we show some Queens on here. Here are a few shots of Downtown Flushing, Queens which is home to a huge asian community (chinese, koreans, taiwanese, etc.).

Cool you got Flushing up there. Flushing is definetley as bustling as it seems in those pictures if not busier. Main street is teaming with people, the stores and businesses are in your face and up on Northern Blvd theres some real history. Lots of activity in that area of Queens; The neighborhoods of Elmhurst, Corona, Forest Hills ( all just as busy) are close by, the Mets play right across the park, and then theres the Park (Flushing) and science center nearby. You've got the college crowd (Queens College and St. Johns are right nearby.) Queens is truely underrated and it deserves alot more credit for feeding the the urban vibe New York takes on. Over two million people from hundreds of nations call Queens home. If they aren't arriving in Jersey, Queens is our front door stop to the world. I love Queens--to death, it is such a cool place and it has tons of that urban charm people crave when they come to New York.
Hope to see Astoria up here someday...I'll try to do a little hunting in my spare time, Koolkid but thanks for those shots.

Yeah, Queens is great. Here's a little of Forest hills, Forest Hill gardens (Queens)to be exact. Known for it's Tudor housing and winding streets.

The LIRR station is a true gem.

That is definitely one of the coolest neighborhoods in the world. It's like going to Europe without the long flight.

So I am reading "The Color of Water" right now and I thought it would be cool to see what these neighborhoods look like. St. Albans, Queens and the Red Hook Housing Projects of Brooklyn.

There are even some exact locations that I will look up that I would appreciate pics of. It would be cool to know the exact location they are talking about.

"The Color of Water" is a beautiful book, a very moving one infact. Its been years since i've read that book, but maybe we can help you here with some of the photo requests from it (or at least try to!)

Does 80 Dwight Street sound like it could be in Brooklyn? 115th and St. Nichols in Manhattan. Vermont Liquor Store at 34th and Vermont (not sure which city, I think Harlem). Benjamin Cardozo High School in Bayside, Queens. 1020 President Street in Brooklyn near Prospect Park.

Maybe I'll find more later...

He was right. That neighborhood does very much look exactly like Europe. England particularly.

NY has so many different faces. What an amazing city.
