I know this thread was titled "MIAMI - Its' Architecture and Its' People"
but I have not seen too many shots of people on the streets.

Is this city a typical American city where the sidewalks are dead in the downtown/financial district after 5pm and on the weekends? Other than South Beach is there a downtown street in Miami
like 5th Avenue in NYC, Newberry Street in Boston, or Michigan Avenue in Chicago?
Other than South Beach are there areas of Miami older with historic neighborhoods walkable from downtown with walk-ups or Brownstone type
structures with stores, clubs and restaurants?

The photos are fantastic though, great work!

Thanks, and if I could change the title of the thread, I would because I am really tired of going around and around about not having enough people shots. Taking recognizable shots of people without a model release is a potential copyright infringement and can get you in trouble, which is one of the reasons why I steer away from them. Not to mention people shots just for the sake of shooting people is not my thing. I'm only interested in incorporating them into the skyline and architecture wherever I can.

Brickell Village along South Miami Avenue and 10th Street near the Metrorail station is good for what you are talking about. South Beach is in the City of Miami Beach. I wish Miami actually could claim all the high-rises on Miami Beach and Sunny Isles Beach.

Thanks! With all the aerials I shot last month, I knew I had to have one that closely matched that old 2004 photo. I was really surprised at how close I came when I put them together.

For those that do not live here, people *do* walk in Miami. The weather here is fantastic and there are alot of sidewalk cafés. Here is a non-exhaustive list of neighborhoods with street life:

Corner of Washington and Lincoln
Lincoln
Washington
Collins
Ocean
West Ave.
North Beach
Surfside
South Pointe Park
Margaret Pace Park
Española
Omni
Bayside
MDC-Wolfson
Govt. Center
Flagler
Cultural Center
SW 1st
SW 8th
S. Miami Ave.
Brickell Ave.
Brickell Park
Brickell Promenade
Vizcaya
Center of Gables
The Grove
The park in the Grove
Dadeland Station
South Miami Station
MDC-Kendall
FIU
Little Haiti
4th Ct.
Hialeah

...what am I missing?

I have lived in a few world cities, so I know what street life is. Miami has it in the above areas, although the density is less than in other worldly cities.

In Miami, like many cities, the walkable neighborhoods usually contain many pretty girls ... maybe that's what the people want to see - shots of hot women walking...
Agreed....also all along Collins Ave in Sunny Isles...now that more people are moving to the tall condominiums built here recently. I just moved to the 35th floor of the Trump II. Lots of people come down in the evening to the outside cafes and restaurants across from these buildings.

dude, this thread has become epic. love all the aerials and vertical shots. would like to see some more street scene and beach scenes. You definitely have to deliver on some more beach scenes for me. yalls beaches are so clean, especially with that nice clear water. The beaches in Texas are all dirty and brown unless you make the epic journey to south padre which is about 8 hours away from me.

Thank you! These two are of our expressway intersection near downtown Miami. That's I-95 running up and down north/south and then State Road 836 branches off to the left going west towards the airport and I-395 branches off to the right going east across Biscayne Bay to South Beach. As it crosses Biscayne Bay, it's known as the MacArthur Causeway.
