As far as i know no dutch company is involved.

The earth is from 2 loca areas. Not so far away












Main stand:
-1st tier: 23 rows

Project has been approved yesterday.
Will cost 100 Mil. € and will be ready for the 2011 Youth Olympics (Just as opening and closing stadium)

Unfortunataly not.
BTW, it will be the first stadium wich will stand just on pillars in the sea.

Its is planned to start April 2009.
Construction will be 18-20 months
With problems 24 months

Is it possible to increase the capacity from 40,000 ==> 50,000 ?

It can´t be flooded because infront of the stadium they will built breakwaters.

This stadium is only for opening and closing ceremony.Other complexes will be ready in 2011, for World Youth Games.

IMO it is possible to expand.
But lets wait.
Trabzon's pop. is just 232.769 and stadium is in the Akyazi which is a suburb of Trabzon.

suburb but 5 km away from the center... it is a walk distance actually.

btw, it is a wonderful news if it is really approved. I like this project.

Galatasaray's new stadium may be the most modern of Turkey and Fenerbahce's the biggest but this is definitly the nicest! EURO 2016 comes nearer

I don't think this stadium will effect any EURO chance. We shouldn't think building stadiums is enough to host the tournement. Infrasutructure, and sutructure of the cities are manybe more important. We have many suitable cities, but I don't think Trabzon is one of them.

It's a bit weird that the opening and closing ceremony of World Youth Games are held in a football specific stadium with no athletics track. As far as I know that's the first case in the history of any universal sporting events like Olympics, Youth games, Universiade etc

I don't think World Youth Games is such a big tournement to have a big athletics stadium. Also opening ceremony of course won't be like Olympics.
